Tony: People who are gay is a choice.. YOU ARE NOT BORN THAT WAY #faggot
Tony: I might as well have executed a small child for the way people react to what I said about gays, sorry I don't buy into your philosophy
Me: it wasn't what you said, it was how you said it. It's fine to express your opinion but be tasteful about it
Tony: maybe to you, but you're probably educated. Others, it's because I said what I did. I say things to spark a debate
Me: but you sparked the debate at the expense of others
Tony: that may be true but did anyone shed a tear over any of this? I didn't attack an individual
Me: well if you take into account the rising suicide rate, I would say so
Tony: yeah I guess, but personally me? I'd disagree, but is suicide a problem? Yes it is.
Me: but isn't your view on gays similar to interracial marriage, women's suffrage, etc.
Tony: that is true, however, me being against gays is theologically based rather than sociologically based like the other two
Me: what about slavery then. Defenders of slavery argued that the institution was divine and Christian based
Tony: it is, but not to the degree of American slavery, biblical slavery was based on warfare conquering and punishment
Me: but proponents of American slavery used it nonetheless to justify their cause. Could say the same about gays
Tony: and people who blindly use religion as a backing are uneducated. Homosexuality is also biologically unnatural, another reason
Me: mules are also biologically unnatural but they exist, they're animals. But nobody protests against that
Tony: they're also a result of genetics and breeding
Me: well I know but I was trying to make a comparison. Gays may be biologically unnatural but they're still human
Tony: I know exactly where you're coming from and I respect your opinion. But don't agree with it, but you made a good argument
Me: likewise. Agree to disagree
